Unlocking Productivity: My ADHD-Friendly Journey

A Moment of Challenge
I’ll never forget the day I was frantically searching for my keys… again. For what felt like the hundredth time that week, I had misplaced them, and this time, it was crucial to find them ASAP. My anxiety levels were through the roof as I scoured every nook and cranny of my apartment, only to come up empty-handed once more. It was then that I realized something needed to change.

The Discovery
As someone with ADHD, I’ve struggled with organization and clutter for as long as I can remember. But it wasn’t until I stumbled upon the simple yet genius “Don’t put it down, put it away” rule that things started to turn around. This unassuming mantra has been a game-changer for me, helping me stay organized, save time, and reduce stress in ways I never thought possible.

Before adopting this habit, my space was a disaster zone – cluttered, disorganized, and completely chaotic. Finding anything would take an eternity, and the added stress was taking a toll on my mental health. But that all changed when I started putting things away immediately after use. It’s hard to describe just how liberating it feels to have everything in its designated spot.

A New Way Forward
By embracing this simple rule, I’ve managed to create a more peaceful and functional living space. My anxiety levels have decreased significantly, and I no longer spend hours searching for misplaced items. In fact, I often find myself with extra time on my hands because I’m not wasting it searching for things that should be easily accessible.

This transformation has also helped me develop greater mindfulness and attention to detail. When putting things away, I’m being intentional about where I place items, taking care of my belongings and creating a sense of calm in the process.
